Token update: Enhanced Security Measures

TagoIO team

At TagoIO, we strive to provide our users with top-notch security and efficiency. In line with this commitment, we are excited to announce a series of increased security and usability updates. This time we are revamping our token security system by (1) Resetting tokens when switching Analysis, (2) hiding console log messages, (3) giving the tokens one-time visibility, and finally, (4) dropping the support for QR code on device token Dialog.

(1) Resetting Tokens When Switching Analysis

The first update starts immediately. The token will be reset when users switch their Analysis to run on an external platform or back to TagoIO. This action avoids token leakage, ensuring the old tokens will no longer work. The newly generated token will replace the old one, enhancing the security of your data.

(2) Hidden Console Log Messages (Upcoming)

In the near future, all messages on Analysis console logs containing sensitive information like tokens or environment variables will be hidden. This feature aims to protect critical information and further strengthen the security within our platform.

(3) One-Time Visibility for Tokens (Upcoming)

Soon, all tokens—including Analysis, device, profile, connector, and network—will be visible only once. If you need to view the token again, you will need to generate a new one. This update is part of our ongoing efforts to secure user information, as the tokens will not be visible anymore after the initial viewing.

(4) Dropping Support for QR Code on Device Token Dialog (Upcoming)

Lastly, we will discontinue support for QR Codes on the device token dialog screen. This change aligns with our goals to streamline our services and focus on the most effective tools and features.

Stay tuned for more information!

These updates reflect TagoIO's relentless commitment to offering our users the safest and most efficient experience. Stay tuned for more details about these features and their release dates.
